What to Expect During a Chemical Peel
Consultation
Your appointment begins with a brief consultation. Your esthetician will review your skin type, concerns, and goals to determine whether a Chemical Peel is the right choice. Let them know about any skin sensitivities, allergies, current medications, recent sun exposure, or if you are pregnant.
During Treatment
The skin is cleansed and prepared. The chemical solution is applied to the treatment area. You may feel a mild tingling sensation that typically lasts a few minutes. The solution is then neutralized or removed according to the treatment protocol. The entire session typically takes approximately 45 minutes including consultation, treatment, and aftercare instructions.
After Treatment
Some redness and mild flaking are normal in the days following a Chemical Peel. The peeling process typically begins 2-3 days after treatment and continues for 3-7 days. Do not pick or pull at peeling skin let it shed naturally. Sun protection is essential during the healing period. Your esthetician will provide specific aftercare instructions and recommend products for your recovery.
Results
Once the healing process is complete, the skin beneath looks fresher, smoother, and more even in tone and texture. Results vary based on individual skin type and the specific peel used. Most clients schedule treatments as recommended by their esthetician, typically as a series with maintenance sessions.
